Our History

Our practice began in the early 1970s as Bridwell and Cavanaugh in Florissant, MO, and quickly built a solid reputation as an honest business with caring dentists. As word spread and more families became patients, an expansion was taken on with the opening of an additional office in St. Peters, MO in 1974. A few years later an Associate Dentist, Dr. John Scanlon, was hired to help with the busy schedule; his gentle approach to dentistry endeared him to many of the patients and the other doctors which led to him being named as Partner in 1981. The practice became Bridwell, Cavanaugh, and Scanlon and through the years and the retirements eventually became Cavanaugh and Scanlon – the name of the practice through the 1990s and 2000s.

In 2011, Dr. John Scanlon wished his longtime business partner a happy retirement and hired a new Associate Dentist that made changing the name of the practice to Scanlon Family Dental an easy decision . . . his daughter, Dr. Cory (nee Scanlon) Glowczewski. The reputation and approach that was refined and solidified over the years remained solidly intact while also going through a refresh as Dr. Cory brought a fun and engaging approach to her patients and their families.

Fast forward, and now, we’ve wished Dr. John Scanlon his own happy retirement and are carrying on the legacy he helped build . . . Dr. Cory Glowczewski is leading a wonderful clinical staff that is bolstered by our Associate Dentist, Dr. Sarah Keller, and a team of fun, genuine hygienists, dental assistants, and patient coordinators.
